| About this site |
When you are at SFOL we will ask you help us look after the centre. As you are away from home your bedrooms become your living area and we ask you keep thenm tidy. During the week we will check your bedrooms every morning, the best room over the week may be rewarded! ![]() You will also be part of a 'duty team' during the week. The Centre Crew is in charge of tidying the common room, usually after meals. The Green Team looks after our compost and recycling jobs, as well as ensuring we save water and electricity around the centre. The Activity Agents make sure all the equipment used that day is looked after and put away in the right place. The idea is not to make you do nasty, smelly jobs, but to get you to help keep the centre a clean and happy place! ![]() Food! Kath and Erica make sure that we are all well fed during the week. The meals always recieve positive feedback! As SFOL is a Eco Centre, and to keep in line with National Trust policy, we try to use as much local, organic and fair trade food as possible. We can also cater for special dietary requirements, please give us atleast 3 weeks notice. Meals are a time for the whole group to be together, which can be a little overwhelming at times. We ask visiting teachers to share the crowd control duties with SFOL staff! ![]() A member of SFOL staff will be on duty at the centre from 8.30am to 8.30 pm. They will run an evening activity such as swimming, snake handling, nightline or even cricket(!)after dinner, then they are available by phone during the night. Some schools like to run teacher-led visits to the beach in the evening, please ensure that your risk assessments allow for this, as our management structure would not cover you. We have a (very)small tuckshop and gift shop at SFOL, with a small selection of fairtrade chocolate, postcards and some small National Trust gifts. Don't bring lots of money though, shopping isn't really what a week at Stackpole is about!
